Double Haul Mends A mend, generally, is the process of placing more line upstream of the fly after a cast has already been performed. Why mend? Downstream bellies in the line, typically caused by water current grabbing the fly line, causes the fly to be pulled or dragged unnaturally. Mending allows drag-free drifts whether dry fly fishing or nymphing. 1. Reach Mend 2. Wrist (Roll) Mend |
