Other notable North Georgia trout waters available by reservation for an outstanding fly fishing experience are:

      Tickanetley Creek, near Ellijay, GA; and,
     
      Soque River near Batesville, Georgia.

We also fly fish for Stripers during the Spring in the Chestatee River near Dahlonega.

These streams are all easily accessible from Atlanta, and the surrounding Southeast states.

Other Public Streams

There are also hundreds of miles of small Georgia mountain streams that hold trout. Some are year around trout fisheries. In addition to Browns and Rainbows, there is an effort underway to preserve and enhance habitat for native Brook Trout in many of these streams.

Trout Unlimited chapter volunteers work in conjunction with the U.S. Forest Service; and, the State of Georgia, Department of Natural Resources, on more than 1700 trout habitat improvement structures and other overall watershed enhancement efforts in the North Georgia Mountains alone.
