Combination Dry Land & On-Water Instruction...
One Half Day (or, up to a Full Day) of Instruction for Beginners
COST: $200 - $300 (see below)

In these classes, we combine either a one-hour or two-hour dry land instruction class with 2, 3, 4, or 5 hours of fly fishing on a stream. This combination of instruction exposes the student to real-world fly fishing situations including moving water, line management, and fly presentation.  If you should catch a fish, real-world landing and proper release will also be taught.  Polarized sunglasses + some type of wading gear is recommended such as waders or hip boots as the water can be cold.  Wet wading is optional.  A Georgia fishing license is required.

All of the following courses include a calendar year membership in the Atlanta Fly Fishing Club
(web site) in order to support & continue your journey as a fly angler.

One-Hour Dry Land Instruction (+ on-water session) Students will learn:

      •  Rigging a rod up for a day on the water, basic knot-tying, and leader set-up
      •  Casting, including the overhead cast, roll cast, false casting, and water loading
      •  How to fish a dry fly, nymph and a streamer
      •  How to read a stream, picking out the most likely places fish will hold and feed.
      •  How to hook, play and land fish

Two-Hour Dry Land Instruction (+ on-water session) Students will learn:

All of the above, plus...
