Spring '16 - Smallmouth Bass Trip to Western NYS

We fished tributaries to Lake Erie in Western New York State early in the month of May. Notably, Cattaragus Creek (the Catt) and Canadaway Creek in Fredonia, NY. Lake Erie itself is a great Smallmouth Bass fishery. Two fly presentation methods were utilized by our group of fly fishermen... Nymphing and Stripping. Both methods were very successful with an average of 15-20 Smallies landed per angler each day. One angler significantly exceed that daily total one day. But it's really not about how many fish you catch but rather the great time that we all had doing it. And, toasting a few beers over a good meal at the end of the day. Terrific trip with great Spring weather conditions. Looking forward to doing it all again next year!
